A few months ago I !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to my fellow Opponauts to help me solve a mystery: while driving around I had spotted a UEA, an Unidentified Exotic Auto, and couldn’t figure out what it was. So, I quickly whipped up a crappy sketch going off my faulty memory and asked for ideas. The answers ranged from Fisker to Spyker, but it appears no one hit the target. That’s probably my fault - my crappy sketch is pretty off from the actual car. But give me a break - I had maybe 2 or 3 seconds to get a good look as I passed the car on the street!

Fast forward a few weeks later. I was browsing the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! when I spotted my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ! Unfortunately, there’s no caption or info on what the car actually is, so I ask you fellow Opponauts once again: what is it?

I knew I had seen this somewhere before and it looked like a Zagato design.

Yup, an AC 378 GT Zagato. Saw one of those at a Chinese auto show a few years back next to an original Cobra.

That’s AC as in Cobra, so of course it has an American 6.2 liter V8

Hey, you DO know about cars! Thanks for solving the mystery. I know I've seen (and heard of) the car before, but it's not something you see every day, even in the car land that is Los Angeles.

Cool beans, that’s it. Although, you notice the hood emblem on the car above doesn't match the AC or Perana logos?

Yup, that’s the car in question all right. Though it looks a little different in red.

Further research reveals that there’s a dealer/distributor in the area over in Santa Monica.

Anyone else notice the hood emblem on the car above doesn't seem to be the Perana nor the AC logo? Any ideas?

Yeah, just spotted that logo in a search, too. All the images I had found had a different Perana logo:

So it appears they've used at least two different emblems. (I like the red one better)

I do too but at the same time I think every high end small car maker ends up going with the shield style because their customers will take it more seriously
